National Integration Movement

Here are some commend made by the participants of National Symposium “For you Motherland: It is time for the children of nation to speak” that was conducted by NIM (National Integration Movement) on September 1, 2005 that was proclaimed as Day to serve Motherland. The speaker who have the commitment to love Motherland and speak are (in sequence from the first speaker)

Muladi, Lemhanas, Governor – Don’t let any group force their desire.
Juwono Sudarsono, Indonesia Minister of Defense – The Miracle with Indonesia.
Franz-Magnis Suseno, Catholic priest , cultural observer – Don’t refuse differences by using violence.
Bhikku Dhammasubho Thera, Buddhist prominent figure, Philosophy professor – Look back at the cultural history.
Nathan Setiabudi, Christian prominent figure – Respect Motherland, respect humanity
Budi S. Tanuwibowo, Khonghucu prominent figure – No minority in the concept of nationalism.
H.S. Dillon, NGO prominent figure – There is no unity without justice.
Siswono Yudo Husodo, Businessman and prominent figure – The Strength is inside our heart.
Miranty Abidin, woman’s prominent figure, public relation consultant – Don’t margin the women.
Slamet Raharjo – Movies’ prominent figure – Colonialism and imperialism are still there.
Widi – AB Three , a member of famous vocal group. – Even the clothes show the identity of a nation.
Wayan Suwarjaya, director general of Hindu and Buddha society guidance – To learn the harmony from the nature.
Bambang Harymurti , The Chief of Tempo Magazine – The Crime appear when we don’t speak.
Okan Cornelius & Donna Agnesia, Actresses – Why can’t we unity because of different religions.

After following the speakers speech, listening to national songs and watching the dance in the symposium, here are some commends given by the participant The commends are compiled by NIM spontaneously in a piece of paper and there is also some people who specially send their commends to NIM.

Amin-Ratna, symposium participant from Bekasi – This is what I have been waiting for. Unity in our motherland. All this time my mind was disturbed. Thank you to the founder and committee. Hope the success will always follow.
High School Student, symposium participant – An interesting program, and it could raise the nation unity and integrity. A program like this must be done more often, especially for high school students. Don’t present too many speaker and too long speech.
Anonym, symposium participant – This program is good for present condition. Hope that the educational society will be included especially the teacher.
Ir. Heksanandono : I wish National Integration movement will become a moral movement that can change Indonesian people into a wiser, loving to other human being and seeing the difference that can unite us. Human is born with differences. Our duty as children of nation are to unite the vision and mission so there will be justice in our motherland. Peace in Indonesia with all the differences.
Democrat youth from Garut – This program must be done in every kabupaten. At least in every province.
Drs. Wayan Suwira Satria, MM, and intellectual – We become stupid because we don’t understand ourselves.

Eddy Waluyo, symposium participant – By having this program, I feel proud to continue and socialize it to our nation through education, other youth organization. So that the youth (man and woman) will love our nation. For you motherland. Continue this struggle whatever happen.

Irawan Alwi, symposium participant – I cried because it has been a long time since I sing or listen to a national anthem. Let’s us raise the spirit of loving our motherland by singing the national anthem at school, movies, radio and others. Go forward NIM!

Youth generation, symposium participant – Bravo….. this program is very useful for the young generation. I ,as the young generation, just realize that my nationalism feeling has gone, because I don’t believe toward my own country. But since I attended NIM’s program I realize that there is a movement or action that will change Indonesia or our motherland to be a better nation. Successes for this program that make my feeling toward national integration appear again.

Base on this symposium commend, we know that there is still love, hope and long for in the heart of every children of nation to be determined together to create one and glorious Indonesia.
